9,451 wild flower plug plants planted. 816 hours of donated volunteer time!

Thank you to our super teams of volunteers who have turned up frequently to support the creation of a community wild flower meadow on Hermitage Field.  It has been an absolutely fabulous community effort and we have been able to plant an amazing 9,451 wild flower plugs into the meadow, culminating in 414 hours of volunteer plug planting time, and a further 402 hours of volunteer time to grow the plug plants. 816 hours of donated volunteer time in total.   A big thank you to everyone who has donated time and energy to this project. It has been a great project to be part of.
We would like to thank Marianne and Andrew Von Tucker, Sir Mark and Arabella Lennox-boyd, Tom Lord, Stephen and Amy Wakelin and Life for a Life Memorial Forests for donating seed to the project.  Additional wild flower plugs were grown by Jo Pennington at Kendal Wild flowers with thanks.
We would like to thank our sponsors, Lancaster City Council, Areti Charitable Trust, Halton Lune Hydro Trust, Plantlife Green Recovery project, Carol Edmondson at Forest of Bowland AONB for advice and support.
