Sponsors and supporters

The work to transform Hermitage Field into species-rich grassland would not be possible without the very generous funding from our sponsors:

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the fantastic input from our volunteers and supporters – who have to date grown and planted over 14,000 wildflower plug plants into the meadow.

In particular we’d like to thank the following people for generously giving their time, or donating seed, from their own local wildflower meadows:

Marianne Von Tucker, Andrew Burningham, Sir Mark and Arabella Lennox-Boyd, Stephen and Amy Wakelin, Peter Blackwell, Tom Lord, and Bill and Cath Grayson.

Thank you to Subhash Chatterjee for donating the website design, Dot McKay for designing our lovely logo, and Ali White for allowing us to use her beautiful wildflower images which grace our information boards. Thank you to Mike Barker, our grazier, and to the Lancashire and Westmorland Hedgelaying Association, who help to manage our hedgerows traditionally..

Finally a vote of thanks to our meadow advisors Carol Edmondson and Sarah Robinson from the Forest of Bowland Hay Time project, Claire Cornish from Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Phil Reddell from Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
