Hermitage Field is next to the Crook O’Lune Picnic Site, Caton, Lancaster. LA2 9HU. There is a pay and display car park, with public toilets at the picnic site.
The Number 81 bus from Lancaster also stops at Crook O’Lune (Mondays – Saturdays).
On foot or by bike, Hermitage Field can be reached along a traffic-free cycle path from Lancaster, which follows the route of the former Bradford-Morecambe railway line. It is 4.6 miles (7.4km) from the city centre, and the route is smooth, with minimal gradients. There are bike racks available at the Crook O’Lune car-park.
