Floral immersion walk

Hay Time Project Officer, Carol Edmondson, lead a morning of floral immersion on the 6th July. The walk started with a relaxing stroll around the Life 4 a Life meadow on the banks of the River Lune. There was time to absorb the abundance of bees, flowers and bird life enjoying the habitat (created in partnership with the AONB, Life 4 a Life and the Community Pollinator Patch volunteers).

The walk finished with a visit to the recently restored Hermitage Field Community Meadow. Over 10,000 plug plants were grown by volunteers and planted in the meadow in 2021-2022. This interesting free walk was a a great opportunity for both experienced meadow makers and the general public to learn more about the creation and management of species-rich meadows.
