Grazing on the Hermitage Field Community Meadow

Hermitage Field Community Meadow. Local farmer Mike Barker has recently used his pregnant ewes to graze Hermitage Field. They have reduced the thick grassy thatch and improved the condition of the field. Now they have been removed and the site will grow and regenerate naturally until August.  Transects will be taken to establish which wild flowers are growing naturally on the site.  This will form part of a baseline survey.
This is a spectacular site and we look forward to working with the Community, meadow experts, and local farmers to transition Hermitage Field into a species rich hay meadow for all to enjoy.
