Gresgarth Hall

We would like to thank Sir Mark and Arebella Lennox – boyd for  kindly allowing us to brush harvest seed from their beautiful meadows outside Gresgarth Hall.  The wild flower and grass seed will allow us to add more diversity to Hermitage Field Community meadow.

Some of the seed has been dried to grow into wild flower plugs for next year and we have been able to donate small amounts of seed to other meadow makers to start them on the meadow making journey.
Peter Blackwell worked small sections of the meadow with the brush harvester, leaving more unusual plants on the site like great burnet in situ to set seed.   We are grateful to George and Ed Hargreves for their help and support on the day.   The meadow was absolutely buzzing with insects and it was an absolute pleasure to send a few hours there with like minded meadow folk.  Thank you Arabella and Mark for your very kind gesture which is very much appreciated.
