Wildflower plugs growing in Lancaster City Council's glass houses.

Keeping their cool

Despite the current heatwave, work to produce wildflower plugs for Hermitage Field continues.

We are very grateful to Lancaster City Council for making a refurbished glasshouse available to us, for growing on our seedlings. But what’s particularly valuable in this hot weather is an automatic watering system, to help keep our plants lush and moist.

We are also able to hang gauze drapes to reduce direct sunlight. As you can see, the plants are appreciating it!
