Connecting People with Nature

As part of the Connecting People with Nature project, we welcomed a super group of volunteers to the meadow on a glorious sunny day in August.

The group enjoyed photographing wildlife, learning about meadow life and how meadow plants are useful to wildlife, farm animals and humans. The group collected wildflower seed to add to the meadow once it’s been mown, and they removed a one-ton bag of Himalayan Balsam from the meadow and surrounding pollinator sites.

Thank you to everyone who came and to Deborah Woods, Community Engagement Officer at the Forest of Bowland AONB, for organising the event. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Thank you to Trustee Judy Powell who volunteered with us on the day.
